After a successful career in finance and property, Alan co-founded Metrodome Films in the early 1990s. By 1996, the company had been floated on the AIM part of the Stock Exchange and become one of the UK's leading independent distributors. Successes include cult hit Donnie Darko which sold over 2M copies on DVD, acquisition of the Sony-Sunbow kids’ catalogue including My Little Pony and Conan the Barbarian, and a JV with Warner Bros focused on classic titles such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Searchers.

In 2003, Alan left Metrodome and worked with Gold Circle Films on hits White Noise, The Wedding Date and Haunting in Connecticut (WBO $215M). Latterly, he was an investment advisor on Rocketman and Men in Black International (WBO $450M). In his career, Alan has worked with leading companies like Sky, the BBC, Film 4, Miramax, Columbia Tri-Star and Lionsgate.
